FUSSY BABY NETWORK COLORADO

If your baby is crying so much that it is difficult to handle, or if you are feeling stressed caring for your baby, there is help.

NURSE FAMILY PARTNERSHIP

In this program, pregnant individuals get regular home visits from a nurse during pregnancy and through their child's second birthday. Visits are focused on health, preparing for birth, parenting, and social support. First-time parents qualify based on income.

PRENATAL PLUS PROGRAM

This program also offers home or office visits by nurses during and after pregnancy. Any pregnant individual who is Medicaid-eligible can enroll (not only first-time mothers). Even if you do not yet have Medicaid, reach out and they can help you enroll in both Medicaid and Prenatal Plus.

EARLY HEAD START

Did you know you can apply for Early Head Start while pregnant? Early Head Start provides home visits, early childhood education, and parent groups until your child is 2 years old, after which he/she may be eligible for Head Start.

POSTPARTUM SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL

Are you struggling emotionally during or after pregnancy? You are not alone, and support is available. PSI offers resources to parents struggling when pregnant or after having a baby. They have online support groups, peer mentors, and a hotline in English and Spanish.

3 HOPEFUL HEARTS

If you have experienced the loss of a child, born or unborn, 3 Hopeful Hearts can help you through your grief. They offer individual services, support groups, and events.

A FRIEND 4U

This program connects you with a mentor who offers friendship, unconditional support, and help with resources throughour your pregnancy and beyond. Only requirement is that you must be pregnant.

STORK SUPPORT

Need supplies? Stork Support collects new and gently used items for families of infants. Reach out to request support or find them at community events (listed on their website).

COLORADO EARLY CHILDHOOD WARM LINE

This support line is a no-cost, confidential service that is available statewide. Parents and caregivers, including early childhood professionals, can call 833.326.4411 (833 ECMH 411) Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to speak with an early childhood mental health consultant. Consultants can help families and caregivers to better understand and support the emotional well-being of young children in their care by discussing needs, brainstorming appropriate support resources, and connecting parents and caregivers to local community resources.

CHILD FIND & EARLY INTERVENTION

If you are worried that your child is not meeting developmental milestones, a Child Find evaluation can identify any delays. Early Intervention (ages 0-3) provides home-based services to address delays, or the school district offers support (ages 3-5). Their goal is to get your child back on track. All support is free.

BABY SLEEP

Worried about your child's sleep? This website has tips about sleep for children ages 0-3, including age-based information and ideas for specific problems (e.g., nightmares).

BE READY

Looking for ways to help your child learn? This local website has free educational resources to use with your young child, as well as tips about development. This program also offers "Be Ready Navigators," who meet directly with families to support child development (ages 0-8).

BRIGHT BY TEXT

Interested in daily tips about your child's growth and learning? This website sends free text messages with information about your child's development.

POUDRE RIVER PUBLIC LIBRARIES

Enjoy storytime (for all ages, in English and Spanish), special events, and the opportunity to check out not just books but also passes to parks and museums.

FORT COLLINS MUSEUM OF DISCOVERY

Located at Mason & Cherry, the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery offers a variety of interactive exhibits that are fun for the whole family. Many activities are targeted to young children. Day passes or membership are available. Passes can be checked out at the library.
Museum is open Wednesday-Sunday from 10am-5pm.

THE MATTHEWS HOUSE

The Matthews House offers a variety of family-friendly programs, including recreation, child education, adult education, career development, and parent groups.

IMAGINATION LIBRARY

Dolly Parton's imagination library is an early literacy program available to children, aged zero to five. Each child will receive a free, age-appropriate book monthly. Families can enroll for no cost at anytime before their child turns 5.

FINDING THE RIGHT FIT

The Early Childhood Council of Larimer County. The ECCLC can help you find the right fit for child care. Visit their website/contact them here, or use the web portal linked below.

United Way of Larimer County. The United Way can help you navigate financial assistance for child care, as well as find the right center. Call 211 to get support.

POUDRE SCHOOL DISTRICT PROGRAMS

Early Head Start provides home visits, parent education, parent groups, and early childhood education to eligible families of children ages 0-3. 

Children ages 3-5 can enroll in PSD preschool. Tuition and availability is listed on website. Children requiring special education are eligible for no-cost education, and families may be eligible for no-cost based on income. Application assistance is available.

If you think you may need financial support to pay for childcare, you may qualify for the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program.

BENEFITS & MEDICAL CARE

Larimer County offers low-cost or Medicaid-funded medical care, as well as a centralized hub for connecting to a variety of benefits (such as food stamps, Medicaid, child care assistance, etc.). Click here for medical care and here for benefits.


If you need support finding health insurance, click here to set up a free appointment with the Health District, where staff can help you identify and apply for the right insurance.

WOMEN, INFANTS, AND CHILDREN (WIC)

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides nutrition support, including food, formula, breastfeeding help, and nutrition education. Parents with children under age 5 are eligible based on income.

FEELING UNSAFE? CONTACT CROSSROADS

If you are feeling unsafe in your home and/or your relationship, Crossroads Safehouse can offer support. They provide emergency housing, crisis intervention, advocacy, and legal support. Call toll-free 1-888-541-SAFE (7233) to learn more or get support.

SAVA CENTER

SAVA Center offers support in the case of sexual violence through advocacy, crisis intervention, counseling, and prevention programs. Call hotline at 970-472-4200. They offer immediate support in the case of sexual assault.

COUNSELING & FAMILY SUPPORT

You, your child, or anyone else in your family may be feeling down, experiencing excessive worry and tension, struggling to cope with stressful events, or suffering in another way emotionally or socially. Mental health support may be the right fit. Here are some local providers/resources:

You can also reach out to CAYAC or Connections to get help finding the right provider for you/your family. 

At Child, Adolescent, and Young Adult Connections (CAYAC), staff will help connect children (5+), adolescents, and young adults to a provider. They also offer temporary mental health support, including medication management. Click here or call 970-221-3308.

IN CRISIS?

If you or somebody you know needs crisis support, use the following resources:

To get support via phone 24/7, call 1 (844) 493-TALK (8255)

or text TALK to 38255. 

SummitStone Crisis Center provides walk-in crisis support at 1217 Riverside Ave (open daily 8am-midnight).

They also provide mobile crisis response, where a clinician comes to the person in need. Available 24/7/365 - call 970-494-4200x4.

If police are needed to maintain safety, call 911. If available, mental health counselors will join to support the police.

If medical support is needed, the person does not know you have called, or if there are safety concerns, call the mental health first responders line to come to you: 970-419-FCPD (3273). They are available in daytime hours in Fort Collins only and can offer medical stabilization, assessment, and ongoing support. 

ASSESSMENT SERVICES

At The Willow Collective, we offer trauma and mental health assessments for children ages 0-5. We accept Medicaid and private pay. Complete our referral form here if you are interested. 

Colorado Center for Assessment and Counseling provides mental health and substance use assessments for a wide range of ages, as well as some counseling services. Most major insurances are accepted, including Medicaid. Call 970-889-8204 or click here.

At Colorado State University, the Psychological Services Center offers assessments, social skills groups, and counseling, all on a sliding fee scale. Call  970-491-5212 or click here.

LGBTQ+ MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES

Queer Asterisk is an organization offering counseling services, groups, and educational trainings that center queer and trans experiences. They accept Medicaid, Medicare, and other insurances, and sliding fee/scholarships are available. 

The Rainbow Circles also offers individual therapy for adults and children, family support, groups, and other affirming services for LGBTQ+ individuals.
